Off in the distance of Another Bedroom, Akira SURE IS FEELING A LOT OF SHIT. A flicker of annoyance turns into a wave, disdain, confusion, and anger. Normal Akechi vitrol. He must be having a good conversation.
And then there's a spark
the spark turns to pain, loud and screeching and mournful and there's shock, shock turns to panic, panic turns to rage
the screeching worsens
the migraine hits like a tank, the nausea crippling as his vision wobbles
[it's the pain that spurs him into action, sends him running from one of the lower floors, and anyone inside of Akechi's room will hear Akira well before he rounds the corner into the hallway]
Akechi!
[he shouts that name loudly, an almost strangled cry that echoes in the hallway as his feet pound against the ground, carrying him right up to Akechi's room. he thought they were done with this!! what is happening now!!]
It won't take him long to realize what has happened. The first one he will see is Luna, collapsed on the floor in front of the Teal Room's door — which is coincidentally wide open. It's only after he's gotten closer that he will notice a second person with her. Akechi, laying on the floor of his room, just a foot away from Luna. He appears to be completely unconscious, his right sleeve looking just a little bit, uh... wet.
[there's a moment where Akira stares at them both, completely frozen, before he moves again— this time to crouch next to Luna because she's closer, hand on her shoulder]
Luna—?! Can you wake up?
[at the same he asks that he shoots a worried look at Akechi, searching for (newish?) injuries. WHAT IS HIS SLEEVE WET WITH]
[His jacket is dark! So, unfortunately, it's difficult to tell what it might be... But luckily(?) for Akira, some of it has smeared on the floor next to Akechi's arm. It's red.]
[he would be freaking out about that more if he didn't know Certain Things about Luna right now. a sharp exhale and he carefully sits Luna up, propping her back up against the doorframe. ASSUMING HE CAN and that she isn't too heavy]
[then he swiftly dashes to Akechi, reaching out to roll up his sleeve to see how bad that cut is]
[It's, hm, pretty bad! It looks like he cleaned and wrapped it up and everything, but unfortunately? Suddenly freaking out and keeling over is a terrible idea, because it seems like the gash on his arm has started to bleed through... Also, there's more blood on his side now that Akira is there.
[UGH. UGH!! HE DOESN'T LIKE THIS!!! his first instinct is to call for help but like who would help. Luna?? she's out cold??? UGH!!! he'll have to come back to her later. . . she isn't bleeding, although he really does worry about her being so completely shut down, but. . . bleeding Akechi first. then Luna]
[with a curse, Akira immediately stands upright and bolts towards the bed. PEOPLE WHO GET HURT DON'T HAVE CLEAN SHEET RIGHTS, I'M SORRY. he yanks one of the sheets off of said bed, yoinks Akechi's bottle of hydrogen peroxide wherever it may be, and drags both items to the unconscious and bleeding detective]
[arm first, although he makes a mental note to take care of that bleeding side later. . . with the sleeve rolled all the way up to Akechi's elbow, he begins to remove the dirty bandages, expression stony and focused. once they're removed]
[TIME TO CLEAN THE WOUND WITH HYDROGEN PEROXIDE AGAIN]
Which means that Akira will be in the middle of cleaning the gash on his arm when Akechi finally snaps out of it, eyes opening he gasps awake. In less than a second, Akira will experience confusion, panic, shock — and what can only be his flight or fight instinct leaning completely towards fight. A second later, and Akechi jolts right up to headbutt Akira if he doesn't move out of the way.]
[So hey, where the hell is Luna? Good question. She's out and about on Monday, perfectly fine. One might see a strand or two of her hair on a piece of furniture. Odd.
By Monday night, strands have turned into clumps of orange like a shedding cat, milky white fluid dripping in trails like blood, and... something else, fleshy and translucent, scattered like powder--
She isn't in the infirmary, though those same signs are there. Room 1 is locked up tight.]
[. . . well. clumps of orange hair with milky white ABT fluid (he remembers the terminology now, from when she gave it to him after explaining her mechanical make up) are a bit concerning!! so when Akira (with Akechi in tow) approaches Luna's room this evening to talk with her about their red bell plan, he is understandably worried]
Luna?
[knock knock! his cat tail, black and sleek and almost panther-like, swishes anxiously behind him. his ears, fluffy and pointed, also twitch with each sound of his fist pounding against her door]
[Meanwhile, Akechi is here, chilling. Bundled up with heck and back, with long sleeves and his usual pair of gloves. You could almost think nothing has happened to him, if not for the fact that there's a clear line of separation between his jaw and neck. Not to mention, that his eyes are just a little too glassy, pupils permanently dilated. It's fine. His skin has never looked this porcelain before? Enjoy the uncanny valley.
He will allow Akira to do his thing. But if Luna doesn't show any signs of life within the next 60 seconds, he'll push him aside to bang on her door.]
[There's nothing right away, so pound away, Akechi!
It's only after that much louder bang that they'll hear movement from inside, like someone frantically fussing with one of the pieces of furniture, before moving towards the door.]
...I-I'm sorry, I... [Her voice is muffled behind the door, but very, very rattled.]
[Akira has no idea what's happening to Luna right now, but it's clearly far more than his simple cat ears and tail, or even Akech's porcelain skin and uncanny valley expression. as soon as the latch is undone, he twists the knob of the door and pushes it open, hobbling inside as quickly as he can while still using a crutch to keep him balanced]
[the fur on his tail is bristled]
Hey. . .!
[he's already asked if they could help, and she didn't answer, so he won't reiterate the question. . . but he does make a beeline for the bathroom and those coughing, choking noises, sorry Akechi]
Akira is nyooming for the bathroom, and Akechi has enough presence of mind to lock the door behind them as he follows after him. The room gets a cursory glance once he steps inside, looking for any signs of the same shit they saw in the infirmary. But, hm. Can roombas suffocate on their own vomit? Time to head to the bathroom and find out.]
When they open the door, the first thing that's immediately obvious is the sheer amount of red hair now littered across the floor, fistfuls and fistfuls scattered at random. White stains the floor; not in an alarming pool like Akira might have seen before, but in trails, spattering the furniture, the walls in places. But beyond all that--
There is skin.
It's mostly congregated around the bathroom, but flesh soaked in white litters the entire room. Like the hair, it is at random, mostly smaller pieces until one heads to the bathroom... which is now an utter disaster. Flesh and nail, the outer casings of teeth, even the thin skinned layers of blue eyes, all now merely decoration on the tile, the sink, splattered with that same white blood.
And in the middle of it is a figure, half-wrapped in a bedsheet from the waist down, practically vomitting into the bathtub. What stubborn pieces of flesh are left attached to her are barely hanging on anymore, like dying leaves on a tree. All that's left behind is the dark lines and curves of a metallic skeleton, cold and inhuman, with a new addition that practically devours the entire bathroom space.
She shudders again, before her jaw opens, sticking her hand into her mouth. There's a painfully wet tearing sound as Luna cleanly removes her tongue and half of the inside of her mouth, spitting it out onto the porcelain before covering her mouth with the back of her hand, as thought to muffle herself.]
[it's a lot, it's a lot, and that is coming from someone who helped Luna repair the circuitry in her injured arm just the day before. Akira had expected something gruesome judging only by the missing clumps of hair and splashes of ABT liquid littering the mansion]
[but this. . .]
[this is. . . . . .]
[for a moment, his heart seizes in his chest, expression slack with horror, with shock, his entire body petrified in place]
[he hisses the curse as he makes to rush into the bathroom, but. . . wings. wings are in the way. shakily, he extends one hand to touch them, as though he is making a valiant attempt at a gesture of comfort]
Akechi, get her another blanket, or a towel, or something--!
[HE HONESTLY HAS NO FUCKING IDEA WHAT TO DO HERE BUT COVERING HER UP AND CLEANING HER UP SEEMS LIKE THE BEST. . . COURSE OF ACTION]
There's a moment where he freezes up, eyes fixed on the mess splattered all over the bathroom floor like he's about to be sick. Then, the moment passes, and he takes a shuddering breath before purposely controlling his expression and calmly walking back into the room. He grabs the first clean sheet he sees, carefully steps over the white stains on the floor, and makes his way towards the bathroom once again.
.... Akira is having a moment. Luna is puking up the insides of her mouth. This is fine. He gets as close to her main body as he can, avoiding the wings, and holds the blanket out to her.]

WEEK FIVE - MONDAY EVENING - we're gonna c/p my mingle prompt
By Monday night, strands have turned into clumps of orange like a shedding cat, milky white fluid dripping in trails like blood, and... something else, fleshy and translucent, scattered like powder--

Is there anything we can do to help you?
no subject
You don't have to step outside. Just unlock the door.
no subject
I... I can't le--
[The word gets caught in her mouth with a choking, wet gag of a sound, before it's muffled. Presumably, she's clapped a hand to her mouth.
There's silence for a good long moment, before she quietly turns the latch... and then rushes away from the door.
There's a clattering sound from the bathroom, a thud, and the sound of Luna coughing into the bathtub.]
